Tunnel of Despair

How does it feel to be in a dark tunnel,
No hand when you stumble , no dawn to cradle,
Where no light ever gleams,
Only echoes of silent screams.

Does it feel like you are a leech
In a shadow that clings and seeks
No ending , no horizon in sight ,
Each step a falter into the night.

 Lost in this void, I wander,
Each breath a muted ponder.
No path, no guide to follow,
Just drifting in the endless  hollow.

Somewhere , in this depth of despair,
Is there a spark of hope, a prayer,
For even in the darkest plight a sliver of dawn might gleam,
Hope to turn the endless night into a waking dream.
