Father’s Day is always special , probably the only when we all stop for a moment to appreciate and celebrate pivotal roles in our lives who have been silently supporting us , sacrificing , and providing the love without expecting anything in return.
Study, work or some times “life” brings us far from them . Sometimes may be a thoughtful gift would be a great way to celebrate Fathers . For me unfortunately those are now not possible any more . So let there be memories which can hopefully pass through the veils of the mortal world.
The poem is a heartfelt reminder of the memories I cherished , the bonds we shared and a way to celebrate the enduring presence of my father passing the boundaries of the world.
Riding through Ranchi’s streets , after the day passed
As a kid I rested upon your lap, in slumber blessed.
As scooter wheels whispered through the night,
Your steady hands guided, a guardian’s light.Toronto streets, a world so new and free,
Together we explored each skyline sight, each maple tree,
In Penang, by the ocean’s edge,
Our first beer shared, a solemn pledge. As Paris gleamed on your 25th,
With Ma and you, in joy and mirth.
Atop the Eiffel, lights below,
In that magic, your love would glow.Your unwavering support through all the years,
A silent strength, calming fears.
Expecting nothing, you gave so much,
A father’s love, a gentle touch.Though nine long years have passed us by,
Your memory lights the evening sky.
On this Father’s Day, though you are gone,
Your legacy and love live on.
